Short and Smart

The Energy Institute at Haas, a joint venture of UC Berkeley’s Haas Business School and the UC Energy Institute, is one of the better sources of academic research in energy policy. Those who don’t care to plow through their working papers (all of which are downloadable free online from the EI’s website) can view highlights, written in plain English in the Institute’s quarterly newsletter. The latest includes discussions of the impact of gas prices on the sorts of cars purchased, the economic rationale for appliance energy standards and the evolving impact of wind power on electricity markets.
